Laser converter utilizing $BaYb_2F_8:Ho^{3+}$ with a three-micron output

Abstract:
An investigation was made of conversion of the wavelength of neodymium laser radiation to the three-micron range utilizing a $BaYb_2F_8:Ho^{3+}$ laser crystal. The most important spectroscopic and lasing characteristics of this crystal were determined.
