Absorption of $CF_4$ laser radiation by $UF_6$ molecules

Abstract:
A study was made of the absorption by $UF_6$ molecules of $CF_4$ laser radiation falling within the $P$ branch of the $\nu_3$ band. Measurements were made of the absorption selectivity for the isotopic variants ${}^{238}UF_6$ and ${}^{235}UF_6$. The results were compared with the published data. A discrepancy is attributed to accumulation of selectivity on successive transitions in multiphoton absorption.
