Energy efficiency of wavefront reversal in stimulated four-wave parametric scattering

Abstract:
A statistical theory is developed for the formation of a reversed light wave in degenerate four-wave mixing of a complex signal field and two high-power plane pump waves in a nonabsorbing nonlinear medium. The maximum efficiencies of conversion of a pump wave to a reversed wave are determined and the optimal conditions for the process are established.
