Abstract:
The investigated multifrequency selective lasing regime in an electron-beam-controlled CO laser made it possible to form a given vibrational–rotational structure of the emission spectrum and to reduce the number of lines in the spectrum without substantially lowering the laser efficiency. An analysis was made of the dependence of the output energy from an individual selected transition on the presence (or absence) of lasing due to vibrational–rotational transitions coupled in cascade with the given transition. Conditions were found for the maximum concentration of radiation energy in this transition by radiative population of the active levels during the cascade lasing. The influence of the specific input energy on the vibrational–rotational structure of the emission spectrum of an electron-beam-controlled CO laser was determined.
