Waveguide coefficient of the amplitude-phase coupling in injection lasers

Full-text PDF (775 kB) Citations (4)
Abstract: An optical model of the active region of an injection laser in the form of an Epstein layer is used in a calculation of a waveguide amplitude-phase coupling coefficient. It is shown that in the case of planar stripe heterolasers the waveguide value of this coefficient depends on the operation of the laser and can exceed considerably (by more than one order of magnitude) the material value of the coefficient.
