Synchrotron radiation research at SSRP
H. Winick, P. L. Csonka
Abstract:
A description is given of the Stanford Synchrotron Research Project (SSRP) and SPEAR storage ring. Different channels of the experimental system are designed for photon energies Eγ ≥ 3.5 keV, Eγ < 2 keV, and Eγ ≤ 300 eV; there is also a high-power x-ray beam channel equipped with crystal monochromators and a toroidal mirror with double focusing. Those research and development programs which are within the SSRP limits are enumerated. A brief review is given of facilities providing synchrotron radiation in the U.S.A.
