Parity nonconservation in atoms
E. M. Henley
Abstract:
The experimental results obtained in a search for parity nonconservation in bismuth atoms are discussed. The role of mixing of atomic states and corrections to the electric dipole transition matrix are considered. The results obtained do not correspond to those predicted by the Weinberg–Salam theory of weak interactions.
