Influence of thermal and hydrodynamic effects on the propagation of short pulses

Abstract: Results are presented of analytic and numerical investigations of the equations for thermal self-focusing of pulses in two limiting cases: when the self-focusing time is much longer than the time for dispersal of matter from the focal zone, and when the converse is true.
