Abstract:
A glass bubble target was irradiated spherically by high-power nanosecond neodymium-laser pulses. The continuous x-ray emission spectrum in the energy range 1-8 keV and the $X$-ray emission lines due to transitions in $H-$, $He-$, and $Li$-like silicon ions were determined simultaneously. The time- and space-integrated continuous spectrum was determined by the method of selective filters and the $X$-ray lines were recorded with a spectrometer which included a flat gypsum crystal. The results of the measurements were used to find the effective electron temperature of the coronal plasma of the target.
