Extended two-level model of multiphoton absorption

Abstract: An analysis is made of a two-level model of multiphoton absorption in the specific case of four-photon ionization of a cesium atom. Allowance is made for the damping and level-shift effects. An expression is obtained for the overall ionization rate and a comparison is made between the theoretical and experimental results.
