Dye jet laser for spectroscopic applications
N. M. Narovlyanskaya, E. A. Tikhonov Institute of Physics of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR, Kiev
Abstract:
An experimental study showed that pulsed gas lasers emitting long pulses were suitable pump sources for dye lasers. Combination of a relatively high peak power (up to 1 kW) with a considerable duration (up to 400 nsec) of pump pulses simplified considerably the technical requirements in respect of selective elements, active media, and devices for recording dye laser radiation. The emission line width of a jet variant of a rhodamine 6G dye laser was 0,07 cm${}^{-1}$ and the lasing efficiency was up to 10%. The output parameters of the dye laser were determined for different operation regimes.
