Electrooptic lithium tantalate switch

Abstract: A study was made of the feasibility of constructing electrooptic lithium tantalate switches for modulation of the $Q$ factor of neodymium-doped garnet lasers. It was found that such switches were characterized by a relatively low control voltage and insensitivity to misalignment, and could be used in high-power lasers.
