Generation of ultrashort pulses of duration determined by the spectral width in a pulsed actively mode-locked $YAG:Nd^{3+}$ laser

Abstract: A study was made of a laser with deep resonant modulation of its losses and a long prelase buildup time. The study established the possibility of obtaining stable emission pulses, of duration from 180 to 800 psec, with a nearly Gaussian shape and a spectrum determined by the indeterminacy relation.
