New reaction rate constants of CF3, n-C3F7, and i-C3F7 radicals

S. V. Kuznetsova, A. I. Maslov
Abstract: Measured absolute characteristics of photodissociation iodine lasers utilizing RI molecules (CF3I, n -C3F7I, i -C3F7I) were used to determine the number of excited I*(2P1/2) atoms formed as a result of photolysis of RI. In the absence of a laser field, all the I* atoms formed in this way combined into I2 molecules. This was evidence of a low efficiency of the R+I*→RI reaction. The results obtained were used to calculate the rate constants of recombination of the radicals R with one another and with iodine atoms.
