Bistability and hysteresis of static polarization induced by laser illumination of crystals
V. I. Emel'yanov, Z. Zokhdi M. V. Lomonosov Moscow State University
Abstract:
It is shown that a laser field causes changes in the static Lorentz field due to redistribution of the populations of the ground and excited electronic states in crystals having different dipole moments. Under certain conditions, the corresponding changes in the transition frequency and permittivity may be abrupt.
