Properties of radiation emitted by a laser with liquid-crystal reflectors

Abstract:
The energy and polarization characteristics were determined for a $CuJ$ vapor laser in which dielectric mirrors were replaced in turn with cholesteric liquid crystals. Possible resonator configurations were studied. An investigation was made of the influence of thermal variation of the position of the selective reflection band of a liquid crystal on laser radiation characteristics.
