Abstract: The characteristics of an electric-discharge XeCl* laser were improved by the addition of hydrogen to an He–Xe–HCl mixture. The energy of the output radiation pulses increased by 15% and the operation of the laser became stabilized. A study was made of the dependence of the output energy on the hydrogen concentration.
