Nonlinear optics

Spatial effects in squeezed states of light beams under parametric amplification conditions

A. V. Belinsky, A. S. Chirkin
Abstract: A theory of the generation of optical fields in a squeezed state by parametric interaction of beams undergoing diffraction is developed. Problems related to the diffraction of a signal wave are considered and allowance for the fact that the pump wave is bounded in space. The reasons for reduction in the squeezing effect efficiency are identified and the conditions for the attainment of the maximum squeezing are found.
