Calorimetric method of determining the bulk and surface absorption in infrared-transparent materials

Abstract:
The possibility of using a calorimetric method to determine the bulk and surface absorption coefficients in infrared-transparent materials is discussed. Results are presented of measurements of the bulk and surface absorption in KCl and NaCl crystal samples at 10.6 μ.
