Single-pass systems for compensation of phase distortions

Abstract:
A single-pass system for compensation of phase distortions found during propagation of signal radiation through a thin optically inhomogeneous medium is proposed and implemented experimentally. The method of reconstruction of the wavefront, which is similar to that used widely in dynamic holography, involves simultaneous phase distortion of the signal radiation and one of the plane pump waves. Advantages and disadvantages of the proposed compensation systems are discussed.
