Measurement of the contrast ratio of high-power nanosecond laser pulses

Abstract:
A method is described for measuring the contrast ratio of nanosecond laser pulses, using a high-speed spark shutter. The experimental results of the contrast ratio measurements on an iodine laser are reported.
