Coherent interaction between a short optical pulse and a molecular amplifying medium allowing for magnetic number degeneracy

Abstract:
Numerical methods are used to investigate the characteristics of a short pulse propagating in a molecular amplifying medium allowing for coherence effects, relaxation processes, and degeneracy of the projections of the rotational momentum. The results obtained allowing for and neglecting the distribution over the orientations are compared.
