Lasing of $Ar-Xe$ mixture under combined pumping

Abstract: An experimental investigation was made of an $Ar-Xe$ infrared laser pumped by a discharge stabilized with an electron beam. It was found that an increase in the working pressure $p$ enhanced the output energy and lasing efficiency; at $p=5$ atm the efficiency, measured relative to the energy stored in the capacitor bank, was 2,7%; the specific output energy was 0.75 J/liter.
