Abstract:
It is shown practically that a sealed copper vapor laser can operate for more than 2000 h and that the increase in laser service life caused by increasing the buffer gas pressure is associated with some reduction in laser efficiency. The possibility is discussed of increasing the laser efficiency and also of reducing the time taken for the laser to heat up to the working temperature.
