Abstract:
A theoretical and experimental investigation was made of the temporal and spectral characteristics of a tunable LiF crystal laser with F−2 colour centres. The temporal profiles of the output pulses overlapped considerably the pump laser pulses because of a large amplification cross section. A study was made of the influence of a change in the pump laser wavelength on the spectral and oscillation characteristics of the LiF : F−2 laser.
