Abstract:
The principles of design of an optical processor with a variable logical structure are given. These principles are justified theoretically and it is shown that the tabular method is the most suitable for logic and arithmetic operations in such a processor. The processor in question has the facility for changes at the logic level and is characterized by a high degree of parallelism of data processing. It can be used to process signals in discrete or analog forms using the same elements. These features ensure much greater capabilities and performance of an optical processor compared with a conventional computer.
