Abstract:
There is a trend towards a wider use of free software in IT. This trend is associated with the transition to a more economical model of software creation and operation, with an increase in the security of software use, the exclusion of proprietary software control over users and users’ data, with the overcoming of various sanctions in the field of proprietary software. For Russia, the rejection of proprietary Oracle software and the transition to PostgreSQL is becoming relevant. The article suggests an approach to solving the problem of migration from Oracle to PostgreSQL of complex application software. The approach was worked out on the example of the migration of the MIS Interin. The results can be used by software developers solving migration tasks.
