On statistical and probabilistic problems related to cooperative sequential adsorption models

Abstract:
The cooperative sequential adsorption models (CSA) are widely used in physics for modelling irreversible adsorption processes. In these models a particle is adsorbed by a material surface with a probability depending on the spatial configuration formed by previously adsorbed particles. It seems reasonable to use the same idea for modelling time series of spatial locations in other real life sciences.
It will be explained how statistical inference for CSA can be done in order to use the model in the applications.
If time permits, then the relation between the lattice CSA models and classical urn models will be described.
