Abstract:
An overview of singular reduction for general symplectic
manifolds will be presented culminating in the stratification theorem
of reduced symplectic spaces. The optimal momentum map will be
introduced and linked to the cylinder valued momentum map as well
as the symplectic strata. Time permitting, the situation of Poisson
and Dirac manifolds will also be presented.
