Abstract:
The talk is devoted to approximation of a given function $f(x,y)$ by linear combinations of its crosses $f(a,y)f(x,b)$. We present two new conditions on $f$ sufficient for the partial convergence of its max-cross approximations. We also plan to give an example of a function which cannot be approximated uniformly by linear combinations of its crosses. Joint work with Yu. A. Skvortsov.
