Abstract:
Pulses and waves in reaction-diffusion systems arise in various applications. We will discuss their existence and stability for some classes of reaction-diffusion systems using the theory of elliptic and parabolic problems in unbounded domains, the theory of Fredholm operators, spectral properties, topological degree. We will illustrate various applications of these results and discuss further perspectives and open questions.
