Invariant subspace problem. A survey

This summer Per Enflo published a 13-page long paper on arxiv.org that claims that any bounded linear operator on a complex Hilbert space has a proper closed invariant subspace. In other words, Enflo states that he solved the invariant subspace problem for the Hilbert case. During this talk we shall discuss the history of this problem from the beginning of the XX century to this day.
