Applied quantum computing: practical computing tasks of the industry and the mathematical problems they generate

Quantum computing is a new rapidly developing field of science and technology, which, from the point of view of solving computational problems, is at the intersection of mathematics and computer science. Performing calculations on quantum computing devices requires the development of new methods and algorithms for solving computational problems. At the same time, the field of practical application of quantum computing is still quite an open question and active research and development is underway in this direction. The report will present some production tasks of the oil and gas industry and associated computational tasks that have the potential to be solved using quantum computers, as well as mathematical problems that arise during the development of quantum solution methods.
