Abstract:
Dynamics of a quantum system can be described by coupled Heisenberg equations. In generic many-body systems these equations involve an exponentially large hierarchy of operators and are intractable without approximations. However, sometimes these equations can be solved exactly - in certain models and for certain subsets of observables. Exact solutions are also available for quite broad classes of open quantum systems governed by the Lindblad master equation. I will illustrate this by thoroughly working out a simple example of a quantum dissipative XX model. Then I will discuss more complex cases. Finally, prospects and open questions will be outlined.
