Abstract:
Pyotr Lavrovich Lavrov (1823-1900) was a colonel and military professor of mathematics at the Artillery Academy, a philosopher and ideologue of Narodniks. He was a member of the organization "Land and Liberty". He arrested and exiled to the Vologda province, fled from exile abroad, lived in Paris, doing journalism. While teaching at the Artillery Academy, he gave a course of 12 lectures on the history of the physical and mathematical sciences, as well as 3 lectures "The influence of the development of exact sciences on the success of military affairs and especially artillery." (1864-1866). Among his journalistic and philosophical works, much attention paid to the history of human thought. The extensive base of scientific literature used by Lavrov in preparation for lectures is admirable. The report will be devoted to the review and analysis of these lectures and their primary sources.
