Abstract:
The following topics, which require only a general mathematical background, will be discussed:
1) From dynamical systems to (multidimensional) symbolic dynamics
2) Undecidability of the domino problem (following Robinson, 1971)
3) How to get aperiodic tilings (cut & projection, substitutions, Mealy machine).
