Arakelov geometry over adelic curves
Huayi Chen |

Abstract:
Arakelov geometry is a theory of arithmetic geometry which combines algebraic geometry over an algebraic integer ring and complex analytic geometry to study the arithmetic properties of projective varieties over a number field. In a joint work with Atsushi Moriwaki, by using the adelic point of view of Chevalley and Weil, we extend Arakelov geometry to the setting of projective varieties over an arbitrary countable field. In this talk, I will explain the main ideas behind this theory, and the similarity and differences compared to the classical approach.
