Abstract: The proof of absence or existence of traps (i.e., points of local but not global extrema) for quantum control objective functionals is an important problem for quantum control. Using analytical and numerical methods, we show that quantum control landscape for ultrafast generation of single-cubit phase shift gates is free of traps
