Asymptotic properties of groups of Burnside type.

Starting with reminding the attempt of H.Kesten to solve the "Burnside Conjecture" in 1959 I will recall some interesting developments around the Burnsdie Problem initiated by his work. I will recall some results of S.Adian and their consequence for my research. Also I will present several new results from the asymptotic group theory.
