Abstract:
The anisotropic theories have attracted attention in the
context of gauge/gravity duality.
We start by motivating the studies and presenting examples of such
theories. Then we discuss the properties
of the observables related to heavy quark probes, working mostly in the
general framework without focusing
on a particular theory. Using the knowledge we have obtained from the
previous observables we continue
to study a striking new feature of the anisotropic theories: the
violation of the known universal relations
that have been found to hold in the isotropic gauge/gravity dualities.
Finally, we mention the possibility
of the existence of chaotic observables in these theories.
