Optimal Decoding in Semicontinuous Channels with a Variable Parameter

V. I. Korzhik, L. M. Fink
Abstract: A semicontinuous variable-parameter channel (VPC) is defined, and an optimal decoding algorithm is determined. It is shown that this algorithm reduces to a comparison of quadratic forms depending on the correlation of the parameters.
