Mathematical Analysis of Algebraic Sequential Coding

Abstract: A statistical analysis of the properties of algebraic sequential decoders is performed. It is shown that for nonbinary alphabets these decoders provide a gain in decoding complexity over classical sequential decoders and Viterbi decoders.
