Estimation of stress concentration in a weld seam formed by explosive welding

Abstract: It is shown that a weld seam formed during explosion welding at a microlevel (at a wavelength of the order of several hundred micrometers) has a wavy geometry. Stress concentration caused by local geometry of the seam is calculated for various shapes and amplitudes of the weld seam wave and combinations of joined materials.
