Application of a gradient approach to estimation of the local strength

S. V. Suknev

Institute of Physicotechnical Problems of the North, Siberian Division, Russian Academy of Sciences, Yakutsk 677891
Abstract: Some problems associated with the use of the gradient approach for estimating the local strength are considered. It is shown that a physically unjustified choice of the gradient function in the strength criterion can lead to contradictory results.
