Reptation motion of animals in a fluid

Abstract: The plane problem of reptation motion of a biological object in a viscous fluid is solved analytically in a long-wave approximation. The motion if laminar. Computational expressions and asymptotic estimates are obtained for the axial and shear forces, expended energy, and motion trajectory. Results of a numerical analysis of the solution are given.
