Abstract: By studying the joint flow of a viscous and a micropolar fluid, we obtained a new boundary condition for the equations of the viscous fluid for the case where a thin layer of a granular fluid is present on the interface with the solid. Examples of using this condition in problems of drilling mud flow in the presence of a mud cake on the borehole wall are given.
