Focusing of charged particles by electric field lenses with a pulsed voltage source

Abstract: Focusing properties of a single electric field lens with a pulsed voltage source are studied by means of numerical simulation. The possibility of reducing the waist diameter of the focused particle beam by more than an order of magnitude compared to the static regime is demonstrated.
