Estimates of heart rate variability by the method of recurrence plots

Abstract: The variability of the heart rate of people depending on their age was analyzed for the first time using numerical characteristics of recurrence plots. The results are comparable with the data obtained by multifractal analysis. It is noted that the method of recurrence plots has a significant advantage since it requires a much smaller number of time counts and, therefore, can be used for rapid diagnostics in extreme situations.
