Abstract:
The particle-in-cell simulation of a reflex triode with a radially divergent magnetized electron beam was carried out. The dynamics of the electron beam and generation characteristics of the reflex triode was studied. It was shown that two virtual cathodes formed in the triode. It was calculated that, when the current of the beam was $I_0$ = 5 kA and the cathode potential was $U_c$ = –100 kV, the peak power of the microwave radiation attained $P$ = 19 MW. There was a frequency peak on the spectrum of the microwave frequency radiation $\nu$ = 5.2 GHz.
