Abstract: The analytical study of refractive and absorbing properties of a sample of the artificial medium consisting of the optimal helices with equal permittivity and permeability has been carried out. Significant advantage of this medium in comparison with «pure» dielectric and magnetic materials was shown on the basis of the obtained results.
Keywords: composite materials, chirality, helical element, permittivity, permeability.
